Women's Soccer Coach Kevin Hurtado

Head Women's Soccer Coach

Kevin Hurtado

Kevin Hurtado, from El Paso Texas, is the new head women’s soccer coach. Hurtado has coaching experience at Colorado Northwestern Community College, Indian Hills Community College, and Centenary College of Louisiana. Hurtado has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Centenary College of Louisiana where he also played soccer.

“I hope to provide my team and players with a memorable experience.” Hurtado said. “I want these girls to have had the two best years of their lives by being an Otero Rattler women’s soccer player.”

Hurtado plans to present a quality attacking style of soccer during the season. He also wants to continue to become one of the most competitive teams in the conference. Hurtado claims he wants all his players to attend a 4-year college after OJC and he will continue to promote and encourage them to attend.

While Hurtado was an assistant coach at Indian Hills Community College the team reached the NJCAA Region 11 championship game and lost to Iowa Western Community College. The team ranked number 16 in NJCAA Division 1 women's soccer. As an assistant at Centenary College of Louisiana Hurtado helped lead the program under Head Coach David Orr. The team went from being 1 – 15 overall in the 2014 – 2015 season to 7 – 10 overall, and received a berth in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament in the 2016 – 2017 season.

Hurtado is excited to lead the OJC women’s soccer team and for the upcoming season. He encourages Rattler fans to come out and support the team. The first home game this season is Sep. 7 at 5:00 p.m. against Western Nebraska Community College.

“I am excited to welcome coach Hurtado to the OJC team.” Gary Addington, OJC athletic director said. “I can’t wait to see the team in action this season under coach Hurtado.”
