Head Coach Christopher Smith

Chris Smith head coach of Rattler Men’s Soccer is entering his fourth season. Smith, assistant coach of the program since 2012, has contributed to the success of the team, which earned two region IX championship titles in 2013 and 2015.

Smith played soccer for Colorado State University-Pueblo as a goalie from 2007 through 2010. During this time he was voted RMAC defensive player of the week two times and named most valuable player once. While at CSU-P, Smith earned a bachelor’ degree in business management with emphasis in marketing and has since completed a master’s degree in sports management.

“I want to thank President Rizzuto and Coach Addington for giving me this opportunity. I am so blessed. I am excited to get started and to continue the success this program has had,” said Smith. “I congratulate Mike [Bielski] on his new position. I know he’s up for the challenge. I thank him for mentoring me and getting me prepared to take on this new challenge.”

The Rattler Men’s Soccer team plays its home opener on Sunday, August 28 at 5 p.m. versus Garden City Community College at Tiger Field. All home soccer events are open to the community free of charge.

 

 

 

Assistant Coach Johnny Adame

Johnny is the assistant men’s soccer coach.  Johnny has most recently coached soccer at the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs.  He also has worked with the soccer program at Fort Hays State University and Neosho County Community College.  He also has experience coaching high school teams and as a game day operator/player relations and athletic director.  Johnny has a Master’s Degree in Health and Human Performance form Fort Hays State University and a Bachelor’s Degree from Missouri Southern State University.
