New Employees at Otero College

Evelyn Koury, Tracina Price and Andee Leininger have all recently joined the team at Otero College and have already fully jumped into their positions.

Evelyn Koury, Coordinator of Academic Affairs, has six years of case management experience as well as over 24 years working at Bent County Correctional Facility. Having worked with the hearings department and with investigations, she has a lot of experience with different forms and office duties that will aid her in her new role at Otero. She is originally from Gig Harbor, Wash. but has lived in Colorado since 1993.

Koury said that she really enjoys working with the people at Otero and its positive atmosphere. Her goals are to continue to meet everyone as campus fills up again and get involved with all of the activities available. On a personal note, she enjoys spending time with family and going on adventures to discover new places. She has two daughters, a son-in-law, five grandchildren and one dog.

Tracina Price, Registrar, joined Otero in May of this year. She has worked in higher education for 13 years. She has previous experience as a registrar as well as working in financial aid and licensure. Her expertise is greatly valued in the Student Services office.

When asked what she liked about Otero, Price answered that it has a small but powerful community feel. The people are friendly and dedicated to helping the students as well as each other. She hopes to be able to contribute to the positive campus culture and develop relationships with students and positive rapports with colleagues.

Price and her family recently moved to La Junta from Las Vegas, Nev., however, she is originally from California. She enjoys visiting spas, tropical vacations and outdoor adventures with her family, which include her husband, one daughter and one son.

Andee Leininger, Recruiter, joined Otero on July 1. She will be responsible for traveling to local high schools for recruitment, going to college fairs and organizing ones on campus and giving tours to prospective students. She is certified as a travel agent and has previously worked as a rangeland management specialist.

Leininger attended Casper College in Wyo. and got a Bachelor of Science in Rangeland Ecology and Watershed Management from the University of Wyoming at Laramie. She is a native of La Junta, her mother retired from Otero having been a math faculty member for several years. She likes that Otero is a smaller campus which gives the opportunity to get to know students and staff better. She went on to say that the campus is beautifully landscaped and there are lots of areas on campus to enjoy the sunny weather. Her goal is to recruit students to Otero and help them thrive here.

When not traveling, Leinginger helps on the family ranch and enjoys reading, writing, sewing and photography.
