OJC Human Resources and Business Office Moves to New Location on Campus

While a majority of the hustle and bustle of Otero Junior College was absent due to Spring Break two weeks ago, there was quite a bit of movement on the employee side. The Human Resources and Business Offices packed up and, with help from custodial staff, moved across campus. They can now be found in the SCORE Center located at 1619 San Juan Avenue.

This move will help these two departments to maintain their confidentiality easier as it is now in a less trafficked building. It also allows them to have more individual space to do their jobs more efficiently and effectively.

According to Becky Hund, HR Technician IV in Human Resources, “The decision to move into the SCORE Center has been a great one. We are now able to help our students and employees with a greater level of ease than in the past. There is a sense of privacy and comfort that wasn’t necessarily always present in our previous office space. Our goal is to provide quality service to the best of our ability with absolute confidentiality.”

There were a couple of previous tenants in the SCORE Center who graciously relocated to accommodate this change. Brooke Matthew, agriculture science faculty, and technologies and service occupations department chair, has moved her office to the new Agriculture Sciences building room 108. Danelle Berg, from Otero County Economic Development, has moved her office to 411 North 10th St. in Rocky Ford. Her phone number is 719-241-4992 and email is Mickie Lewis, Small Business Development Center Director, has relocated to 110 Santa Fe Ave. in La Junta. She can also be reached by phone at 970-580-1881 or by email at
