Rees and Lind to Perform at OJC

Dean Rees and Dr. James Lind will be pairing up to provide the La Junta Community with a free recital titled Trumpet Through the Ages. The recital will take place on April 16 at 7 p.m. in the Ed Stafford Theatre on the Otero Junior College Campus. The recital is free and open to the public.

“Each piece of the night will be performed on a different trumpet,” Lind said. “The recital is a great opportunity for students interested in studying music at OJC to see the music faculty in action, as well as a reason for the community to come together for a night of free music.”

According to Lind, he will be playing the trumpet accompanied by Rees on the piano. The duo will play works by Handel, Hummel, and Peeters among others from the Baroque, Classical and Contemporary eras.

OJC’s Associate of Art degree with music designation is now accepting enrollment for the Fall semester. The degree program is intended for students intending to transfer on and earn a bachelor’s degree in a music-related field.

For more information about the recital or OJC’s music program, contact Lind 719-384-6872 or email james.lind@ojc.edu.
