Landon Pirius Visits OJC

 

Otero Junior College was visited on March 11 by Landon Pirius, Ph.D., the vice chancellor for academic and student affairs for the Colorado Community College System in Denver.

Pirius is visiting all 13 community college’s throughout the state to learn more about each college’s efforts in academic affairs- teaching and learning, workforce development, and more. During his visit, he observed Dr. Cheryl Reeves math class and Cathy Bollacker’s Medical Lab Technician class, met with department chairs and held a faculty assembly. Pirius also received a full tour of the campus while here, and got to spend some time in the Kiva.

“It was a pleasure having Dr. Pirius visit from the system office. I am always proud of the way the staff and faculty of OJC pull together and show off the amazing things we are accomplishing here,” Kim Grimsley, Vice President of Instructional Services, said.

Pirius was moved to the vice chancellor position effective Oct. 1, 2018 is charged with overseeing all duties related to student affairs, strategic enrollment management, student technology components, and student organization functions.
