OJC to Hold Phi Theta Kappa Induction Ceremony on Dec. 9

 

Otero Junior College’s Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) organization will hold an induction ceremony for new members at OJC. The ceremony will take place on Sunday, Dec. 9, 2018, at 6:00 p.m. in McBride Hall room 137. All are invited to celebrate this accomplishment with the inductees by attending the ceremony. Refreshments will be served at a reception following the ceremony.

Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society was founded in 1918 to recognize and encourage the academic achievement of two-year college students and to provide opportunities for individual growth through honors, leadership and service programs. PTK is the largest honor society in American higher education. It has more than 2.5 million members and 1,275 chapters in 50 United States, U.S. Territories, Canada, Germany, Peru, the British Virgin Islands, Palau, Micronesia, the Marshall Islands and the United Arab Emirates.

To be eligible for membership, members are required to earn a 3.5, or higher grade point average last semester, have at least a 3.25 GPA overall, and have completed at least 12 credits at OJC. For more information, contact PTK Advisor, Kaysie Schmidt at 719-384-6854 or Kaysie.Scmidt@ojc.edu.
