International Relations Organization Lunch and Learn set for Sept. 13 at 12:15 p.m.

 

With the semester in full motion at Otero Junior College (OJC), the International Lunch and Learn program is set to start. The first Lunch and Learn presentation will take place on Thursday Sept. 13 from 12:15 p.m. to 12:50 p.m. in OJC’s Learning Commons located in Wheeler Hall. The Lunch and Learn will feature a presentation about the Netherlands by Anouk van Noord. All lunch and learn presentations are free; however, lunch is not provided. Attendees are welcome to purchase lunch at the Starbuck’s Venom Pit Coffee Shop or bring something to enjoy.

The Lunch and Learn program is sponsored by the International Relations Organization (IRO) and the OJC Learning Commons. The goal of the program is to give international students a chance to share their country’s culture, customs, languages, songs, and dances, with the campus and community. “The Lunch and Learn series is great opportunity to learn about different cultures. There is no cost to join us and everyone is welcome”, Chellie Wallace, Director of International Relations and Advisor to the IRO, explained.

Anouk van Noord is a native of Aalsmeer, Noord Holland, located in the Netherlands. She is a sophomore volleyball player who will be completing an Associate of Science degree in May 2019.

There are Lunch and Learn presentations scheduled for September, October, November, and December.
