Admission and Enrollment Checklist

 

Otero Junior College offers a variety of degree programs. Fall semester is set to begin on Aug. 20, 2018. Now is the time to take the steps to prepare for fall semester. “We encourage all who are interested in attending OJC, to complete the enrollment checklist.” Jennifer Pollmiller, OJC recruiter, said.

First, schedule an official campus visit to see OJC by calling 719-384-6891 or register online at www.ojc.edu/inquiry.aspx.

Second apply to OJC. The application is free and can be accessed online at www.ojc/howToApply.aspx.

Third, submit immunization records. Proof of two measles, mumps, and rubella is required. Along with a meningococcal shot or waiver form.

Fourth, submit high school or GED transcripts. For scholarship applications submit through 7th semester. Upon completion of high school or GED submit final grades and proof of graduation.

Fifth, submit college transcripts from all previously attended colleges.

Sixth, submit ACT/SAT scores. If the following applies to you, contact: 719-384-6831 to schedule an assessment test:

You have ACT scores below: Math 23, English 18, and Reading 17.
Your SAT was taken prior to 3/2016: Reading 430, Writing 440, Math 570.
Your SAT was taken after 3/2016: Evidence-Based Reading/Writing 470, Math 590.
You have not taken ACT or SAT within the last five years.
You have never taken the ACT or SAT.

Seventh, apply for The College Opportunity Fund (COF), this is for Colorado residents only. This is a stipend (discount) for in-state tuition. Apply at: https://cof.college-assist.org/.

Eighth, apply for the Free Application for federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Apply at: www.fafsa.ed.gov. OJC’s School Code is 001362.

Ninth, apply for scholarships. Most scholarship deadlines at OJC are April 1. The list of OJC scholarships and applications can be accessed at www.ojc.edu/scholarships.aspx.

Tenth, apply for housing. Students staying in on campus housing need to complete a housing contract and pay a $100 housing deposit. Students must provide immunization information to secure campus housing. The housing contract is located at www.ojc.edu/content/studentHousing/Housing_Contract.pdf

Finally, complete OJC 101, an online new student orientation. This provides new students with an introduction to OJC and everything they will need to know to get the most out of their college experience.
