OJC to Offer 14 Eight Week Courses in the Fall 2018 Semester

Otero Junior College is set to offer a total of 14 eight week courses for the fall 2018 semester. A traditional course is 15 weeks. With the shortened eight week course students are able to complete the class seven weeks sooner. The fall 2018 semester for OJC is set to begin on Aug. 20, 2018.

“These courses can benefit anyone. Whether you are just starting to work on your degree or need one more class to finish your degree, these eight-week courses may be the answer for you.” Kim Grimsley OJC vice president of instruction said. “We hope by offering these courses we can better meet the needs of our current students along with new students, who struggle to take the traditional 15 week courses.” Grimsley explained that if time is the barrier from keeping you from completing your degree you should seriously look into taking the shortened eight week courses.

The eight week courses to be offered in the fall 2018 semester include, Intro to PC Applications (CIS 118), Human Anatomy and Physiology I (BIO 201), Human Anatomy and Physiology II (BIO 202), English Composition I (ENG 121), English Composition II (ENG 122), US History to Reconstruction (HIS 121), US History since the Civil War (HIS 122), Introduction to Health Navigation (PBH 100), Health Navigation Principles and Practices (PBH 101), Health System Navigation (PBH 200), Community Health Focus on Prevention (PBH 201), General Psychology I (PSY 101), General Psychology II (PSY 102), and Introduction to Sociology I (SOC 101).
