Fall Semester at OJC begins August 21
As Back-to-School advertisements hit full force, preparations for Fall Semester at Otero Junior College are moving into high gear. There are just four weeks left to register before classes begin on Monday, August 21.
Jeff Paolucci, vice president of Student Services, encourages new and returning students who have not yet registered to do so as soon as possible for the best chance at getting the courses and schedule they need.
“We are coming down to the wire, but there is still room in most of our academic courses and career and technical education programs for new students,” said Paolucci. “We are a one-stop-shop in Student Services, so if students come in the next few weeks, we will personally help them enroll in the college, chart out a course of study, get registered and start the financial aid process,” he said. “If students have already registered for classes and need to make schedule changes; we can also help them with that.”
Students are invited to get a "Jump Start" on their college career before classes begin by registering for one of the sessions on August 20, 2017 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. During the one-hour session students get their computer password, student e-mail, and library card. They also learn how to log into D2L and the Portal and can print their class schedule.
Space is limited to 30 students per time slot (50 minute sessions beginning on the hour), so register today at http://www.ojc.edu/futurestudents/jump_start.aspx .
Students will need to order all books or material required for courses through the virtual bookstore online site. The virtual bookstore site allows students to buy new or used books, rent books or purchase E-books. The virtual bookstore is accessed online at: http://ojc.ecampus.com/ .
For more information, contact the Student Services Center at 719-384-6831 or visit OJC on the web at www.ojc.edu.
