Tickets on sale now for Suited for Work fashion show

Suited for Work, a fashion show that highlights workplace appropriate fashions, will hit the stage in the Koshare Kiva on Thursday, April 13 at 7 p.m. doors will open at 6:30 p.m.

The event, created by Otero Junior College Career Services, will feature students and staff from the college. In addition to appropriate work wear ranging from business to business casual, examples of what not to wear will be incorporated.

“This is an important event for our students. How you dress is one of the first things that a prospective employer will judge you on when you are trying to get a job. It is your first impression,” said Allie Hall, OJC Career/Academic Advisor. “Many people spend a lot of time worrying about whether or not their interview outfits are appropriate. With this event, I hope to give people a little more confidence in their knowledge of what is and what is not appropriate, in a fun way.”

Sponsors that have made this event possible include: Presenting Partner Vanhook’s Landscaping and Rock and Brought to you in Part by Partners: La Junta Tribune-Democrat, Derek Carroll State Farm, The Barista, Sears Hometown Store, Colorado Bank and Trust, OJC Foundation, and Dr. Ryan T. Anderson General Dentistry
Tickets for community members are $5.00. Admission includes the show and a dessert bar afterward. Tickets are currently on sale at OJC Student Services and The Barista. For more information or to reserve tickets, contact Allie Hall, OJC Career/Academic Advisor, at 719-384-6931.
