OJC Foundation moving on to 2nd round in 2017 Brackets for Good Tournament
The Otero Junior College Foundation was selected from over 1530 nonprofit organizations from across the country who registered to compete in Brackets For Good 2017. After a low key first round, the OJCF has advanced to round two and is at press time behind in the competition.
To get in the game and help the OJC Foundation win Brackets For Good Denver 2017 and win the $10,000 prize sponsored by mGive, visit https://denver.bfg.org/matchup/otero-junior-college-foundation and score points by making donations!
Proceeds from the event will benefit the President’s Leadership Program’s (PLP) scholarship fund. PLP is designed to develop and foster tomorrow’s leaders. The program focuses on three major areas: experiential learning, service learning, and field experience. PLP scholars must submit an application, essay, and complete an interview before being admitted. Our goal in recruiting new leaders for the program is to recognize ability, potential, and existing skills.
For many, PLP offers new leadership ideas and skills; for others it polishes their leadership qualities. The scholarship program ensures that financial status does not interfere with the future leader's ability to participate in the program.
“The opportunity to participate in this tournament presented itself, and true to the leaders they are, PLP members jumped at the chance,” said Sue Samaniego, OJC Foundation director. “The opportunity to help future PLP members and pay forward the opportunity they received made them spring into action. The program currently offers $20,000 in scholarships per year. We hope to build that fund to ensure that future leaders can continue to benefit from the program without increased financial burden.”
Score points to help OJC Foundation and the President’s Leadership Program win $10,000 by donating at BFG.org.
