International Relations Organization Haunted House a sure scare

Arkansas Valley people needing a good scare can sure get one at the OJC International student haunted house again this year.  The IRO fundraiser will be open to the public the weekend before Halloween.

There won’t be a spoiler alert in this story, although it should be noted this was an extremely popular attraction in La Junta last year.  So naturally, students have worked arduously to elevate the fright factor.  Ghouls and goblins should arrive early due to the popularity of the haunted house.

Last year, the International Relations Organization or IRO brought in more than $1,500.  Money raised helps international students pay for cultural programs and excursions while studying at Otero Junior College.

Because Halloween is an American observance, the international students are often experiencing something totally new in helping build and act in the haunted house.  International students representing more than 20 countries make up the IRO.

Tickets to enter are $5.  The Haunted house is in the Student Center’s bookstore on campus.  Doors open at 8pm, both nights, October 28th and 29th.  For more information contact Anne Taylor, Coordinator of International Programs, at 719-384-6804.
