Bielski headed to Cal State East Bay
Mike Bielski, who has lead the Rattler Men’s Soccer team since 2011, will be moving up to head coach at Cal State East Bay (NCAA Division II) later this month.
The Rattlers compiled a 72-24-5 record during Bielski’s tenure and won two NJCAA Region IX championships (2013 and 2015), making the Region IX championship game four out of five years. A two-time Region IX Coach of the Year, Bielski has transferred 30 players into programs at four-year schools.
“It was a hard decision to leave Otero Junior College, but going home to California to coach at East Bay, close to my family and friends, is a dream come true,” said Bielski.
“I will miss OJC and will be back to visit. I have had a great experience here creating unforgettable memories. I wouldn’t be where I am now without all I was able to learn both on and off the field at OJC. I’d like to thank everyone who has contributed to my growth and supported both me and the team. I would also like to thank East Bay for this opportunity,” Bielski added.
Otero Junior College staff wish Coach Bielski luck in the next step of his coaching career.
Bielski, Head Men’s Soccer coach for the Rattlers since 2011, is moving home to California and up to Division II to coach for Cal State East Bay.
