OJC Rodeo back in action
Otero Junior College Rodeo had a strong showing at the first rodeo of the spring semester within the Central Rocky Mountain Region at Eastern Wyoming College rodeo in Torrington, Wyo.
Leading the men’s team was freshman Kody Aldrich (Westcliff). He finished the weekend third in the bull riding and fifth in the bareback riding. Also placing for the men’s team was Mason Mardesich (Gridley, Calif.) placing third in the tie down roping and Nolan Gillies (Boise, Idaho) who placed in the top 10 in the bareback riding.
Leading the women’s team was Fowler native Nichole Waggoner. She won second in the first round of competition in the barrel racing qualifying her for the championship round. She finished in the top ten adding to her point total. She is currently third in the regional standings.
OJC Rodeo will compete next in Gillette, Wyo. at the Gillette College Rodeo on March 18-20.
