OJC Career Services announces spring events
Otero Junior College Career Services offers assistance with career exploration and assessment, career planning and goal setting, researching educational pathways and developing employability skills. To help meet these goals, Career Coach Allie Hall has put together a variety of public programs to be held this spring.
Embark on a Vocational Voyage to explore career possibilities. This spring’s Vocational Voyage programs include:
• Feb. 17 – Mack Myers discusses Ag Economics at noon in the Learning Commons in Wheeler Hall.
• March 9 – Martina Murray presents on careers in Agronomy at noon in the Learning Commons.
• April 5 – Ron Striegel illuminates the career paths in Public Health at 11:30 a.m. in the Learning Commons.
Interested in exploring graduate school opportunities? Panel of three with advanced degrees in a variety of subjects, Angela Moore, Robert Samaniego and Brenda Mueller, will present their viewpoints and experiences on March 1 at 3:00 p.m. in the Learning Commons Collaboration Room in Wheeler Hall.
Finally, on April 14 at 7:00 p.m. in the Koshare Kiva, Career Services will host the second annual “Suited for Work” fashion show. The show will focus on appropriate career wear from business formal to business casual. Tickets for the general public will be $5 and will include both the fashion show and a dessert bar. Thanks to our current sponsors of this event: Vanhook’s Landscaping & Rock, Sears, The Barista, Oliver Manufacturing, Colorado Bank & Trust and Derek Carroll State Farm.
For more information on these events or Career Services, contact Allison Hall, Career Coach, at 719-384-6931 or Allison.Hall@ojc.edu .
